Avro Vulcan Engraved Whisky Tumbler with Handmade Polished Pewter Base

Our Avro Vulcan Engraved Whisky Tumbler pays tribute to one of the most iconic silhouettes ever put into the sky — a properly weighted whisky tumbler with the unmistakable delta wing of the Avro Vulcan beautifully engraved on the side of the glass, set into a handmade pewter base polished to a high shine. The pewter wraps around the bottom of the tumbler, lifting it from a glass into something considerably more substantial.

The Vulcan was Britain's Cold War heavy bomber, and one of the strangest and most beautiful aircraft ever to leave a runway. Nothing else looked like it — that great pale triangle roaring overhead was the sound of an entire era of British aviation. It ended its service in properly heroic fashion too, flying the famous Black Buck missions in 1982 to bomb the runway at Port Stanley in the Falklands — at the time, the longest-range bombing raids in history. Ours come without the ordnance, but the silhouette does most of the work anyway.

The pewter base is handmade at the A E Williams workshop in Birmingham in some of the finest British Pewter, polished by hand to a bright finish. The tumbler holds 300ml — a generous measure for a fine single malt, a favourite bourbon, or anything else worth raising — and weighs around 410g, giving it the substantial, properly-grounded feel that the best whisky glassware always has.
