This beautiful Holbein Jug is created using some of the finest British Pewter and traditional bronze moulds, dating back to the 18th Century.

Named after the famous artist Hans Holbein who lived throughout the early part of the 16th Century, during which he painted many pictures for King Henry VIII and Thomas Moore. One of which was a sketch of Thomas Moore's family. In this sketch if you look to the right hand side, near the window you will spot a jug.
An exact replica of this jug was made for Hampton Court Palace and thus named the Holbein Wine Jug.

To celebrate the 500th anniversary of King Henry VIII Accession to the throne, this pewter jug was commissioned by Hampton Court Palace, to be displayed on the top table in the great hall where King Henry VIII would have sat. This is an extremely unique item, and there will only be a few made worldwide.
