Keep a symbol of eternity and connection close at hand. The Two Tone Celtic Knot Pewter Pocket Watch carries an interlaced Celtic knot on its front, hand cast in some of the finest British Pewter.

The motif is hand cast at our Birmingham pewter workshop, then fitted into a quartz movement with a three-year battery. The two tone case pairs warm gold-tone detailing with cooler silver-tone, which lifts the knotwork into proper relief. At around 77g it has a substantial feel without dragging a waistcoat pocket out of shape. It comes complete with its chain in a leatherette presentation box, a good gift for groomsmen, milestone birthdays, retirements and anniversaries.

The knot on the front is a classic Celtic design, interlaced so that it has no beginning and no end, traditionally read as a symbol of eternity and connection. That makes it a fitting front for a watch, which measures out time in an unbroken circle of its own. The two tone finish means the pattern reads clearly rather than disappearing into the case.

A Pewter Maker picking up an Antique Mould

A E Williams (Est 1779) Ltd is one of Britain's oldest pewter makers, still run by the family that founded it nearly 250 years ago. 


The story began when Thomas Williams started a small workshop making flatware and dishes from his home on the Welsh border, and from there the craft passed down through eight generations of the same family, all the way to Rebecca Johnson, who joined the business in 2015. 


Today we're based at our workshop in Digbeth, Birmingham, where we've been since the early 1970s.

OUR STORY
Pouring molten pewter into a bronze mould

We work from a collection of over 1,500 antique bronze moulds, some of which are centuries old. Many were made by hand long before machine tooling existed, and we still use them today, alongside moulds and skills of our own, to produce pieces with the kind of character that mass production simply can't replicate.
