Never ending Knot Mechanical Pocket Watch

Hand-wind it each morning and watch the gears turn through the back. The Never Ending Knot Mechanical Pewter Pocket Watch has a double full hunter case that opens front and back, with a 17-jewel skeleton movement.

The pewter never-ending knot motif on the front is hand cast at our Birmingham pewter workshop in some of the finest British Pewter. There is no battery and no quartz, just hand-wound engineering. Weighing around 92g, heavier than our quartz models, it comes complete with its chain and arrives in a leatherette presentation box. A natural choice for watch collectors, milestone retirements, anniversaries or fiftieth and sixtieth birthdays.

The continuous looping of the knotwork suggests themes of eternity and interconnectedness. Knots were sometimes worn as talismans against evil spirits. Interwoven knots are said to represent lovers, hunters and prey, even God and man, depending on which folklore you favour.

A Pewter Maker picking up an Antique Mould

A E Williams (Est 1779) Ltd is one of Britain's oldest pewter makers, still run by the family that founded it nearly 250 years ago. 


The story began when Thomas Williams started a small workshop making flatware and dishes from his home on the Welsh border, and from there the craft passed down through eight generations of the same family, all the way to Rebecca Johnson, who joined the business in 2015. 


Today we're based at our workshop in Digbeth, Birmingham, where we've been since the early 1970s.

OUR STORY
Pouring molten pewter into a bronze mould

We work from a collection of over 1,500 antique bronze moulds, some of which are centuries old. Many were made by hand long before machine tooling existed, and we still use them today, alongside moulds and skills of our own, to produce pieces with the kind of character that mass production simply can't replicate.
